Pickin' Productions was founded in 2001 in order to bring good acoustic Old Time, Country and Bluegrass music to Western Colorado's North Fork Valley.  After numerous sold out shows at various venues around the area, we're going strong and are looking forward to more great musical events. 

A focus for Pickin' Productions is to (along with throwing concerts and dances) raise awareness within our community of various non-profit organizations that are doing good work - we've worked a lot with KVNF Public Radio in Paonia, CO and look forward to many more shows that are co-presented with KVNF.  Other organizations have included the Western Slope Environmental Resource Council, and the North Fork River Improvement Association - as well as private fund raisers.  

Venues we have to choose from include Paonia's Paradise Theater, a beautiful 100 year old movie theater with a big stage, and capacity for about 200 folks.  We've recently shifted the stage so it now has a proverbial Honkytonk  hardwood dance floor.  The Blue Sage Center for the Arts is another nice place for music, and is undergoing an expansion which could make it one of the premiere venues this side of the Rockies-- or at least that side of the street!  It holds about 150 people, and has a nice big space for dancing.  Down the road in Hotchkiss is the Delta County Fairgrounds.  We hosted the Reeltime Travelers here last summer and hundreds of folks found it to be a great place for a big fat hoedown. The fairgrounds will be hosting the 1st annual North Fork Bluegrass Festival brought to you by our friends "over the hill" at Pickin' Parlor.  Pickin' Productions will be lending a hand there and we hope to see ya! 

If you are a live music lover... and want to stay informed on upcoming shows, we encourage you to email us so we can add you to our mailing list.  We also encourage you to give us names of your favorite bands that you'd like to see in the area. 

If you're a musician... and would like to play in our valley sometime, please email us and we'll be in touch.  Feel free to send a promo pack with a CD to our address below.  Also, if you'd like to get your CD into the studio at KVNF send an extra and we can take care of that for you.  Please keep in mind that since us folks at Pickin' Productions keep ourselves quite busy being DJ's on KVNF, playing in Sweet Sunny South, Duck, Duck, Gray Duck and raising families, the number of shows we can produce adds up to only a few per year. Don't get discouraged if we aren't able to do a show with you or your group. The group may be right but the timing wrong so stay in touch. We're connected with other promoters in the area and are happy to discuss ways for you to shape a Colorado tour.
